Missy McGee has served as state representative for House District 102 since 2017. Representing Central Hattiesburg, she serves as Vice Chairman of the House Tourism Committee. She also serves on the Public Health & Human Services, Medicaid, Transportation, Apportionment & Elections, Universities & Colleges and Public Utilities committees.
Long before she was a legislator, she was known as the “one you call when you want something done.” Whether as a volunteer in any number of community organizations, administrator in her family’s business or instructor at Southern Miss, there are usually a few specific words and phrases used to describe Missy McGee. These include “doer” and “servant leader.”
Missy Warren McGee was born, raised and spent nearly her entire life in Hattiesburg. The only years she lived elsewhere were the three that she spent in Washington D.C. serving as a Legislative Assistant to Senator Trent Lott. She’s a product of the Hattiesburg Public School District and The University of Southern Mississippi, where she received her bachelor of science and master of arts degrees in speech communication. Missy is married to Sean McGee, they have two sons: Patrick, 21, and Jackson, 18. The are active members of Main Street United Methodist Church.
